Numéro spécial, paru à l'occasion de l'exposition éponyme qui s'est tenue au Centre Pompidou, Paris, du 15 janvier au 26 mai 2025. Il explore la vie et l'œuvre de Suzanne Valadon, artiste iconoclaste, figure centrale du post-impressionnisme. Il retrace son parcours atypique, de ses débuts comme modèle à Montmartre à son émancipation en tant que peintre reconnue. Il met en lumière ses thèmes de prédilection, notamment la représentation du corps féminin et la nature. Il souligne aussi l'influence de Valadon sur les générations d'artistes suivantes.
Special issue, published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition held at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, from January 15 to May 26, 2025. It explores the life and work of Suzanne Valadon, iconoclastic artist and central figure of Post-Impressionism. It traces her atypical career, from her beginnings as a model in Montmartre to her emancipation as a recognized painter. It highlights her favorite themes, notably the representation of the female body and nature. It also highlights Valadon's influence on subsequent generations of artists. |
